Probably because everything was fresh, cooked to order and it was unusual to eat the same dish twice or prepared in the same manner. It was hysterically funny listening to Mr. Wang's lengthy conversation with first staff and then cook, trying to come up with a meal in Danba when the local specialities were rabbit, yak liver, tripe and a few other "me no likes" on the menu.
