The Volunteers of America is an organization that helps people who are intellectually disabled, homeless, and mentally ill. Kathy Fowler works as a nurse with VOA. She says the $500 prize that comes with the award will go to good use, "We have volunteers that we're trying to recruit, some medical volunteers, that are going to be going to haiti for the earthquake. Going over there providing some help which we could use the money definitely to go to that fund."
