"I Wanna Be Around" was written by Johnny Mercer using suggestions made by Sadie Vimmerstedt. The best known version was recorded by Tony Bennett in 1963. Joni James' version is from her 1963 album, Like Three O'Clock In The Morning, originally released on MGM Records. Personnel include: Jimmy Haskell (arranger, conductor); Pete Jolly (piano); Howard Roberts (guitar); Ralph Penna (bass); Shelly Manne and Milt Holland (drums). The album can be found on CD combined with the album, After Hours, on Collectors' Choice, a subsidiary of Emi-Capitol.
