Lighting up the Peace Flame in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland, with youth, samba and a little help from Martin Luther King III. This video shows a few moments during the Bright Brand New Day event on 19 May 2013 at Guildhall Square initiated by Reverend David Latimer following his stint as army chaplain in Afghanistan. To add vital oxygen to the ceremonial lighting of the Peace Flame, Musicians without Borders percussionist Chris Colleye trained and led the mixed samba group at Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin, the Irish cultural centre, as part of his contribution to the Singing The Bridge Community Music & Music Therapy Festival. The symbolic flame was ignited for the very first time by two young children, Rachel Foster and Aidan Tunny.
