Tropical Storm Leepi is currently heading towards the southern Ryukyu Islands, and is likely to pass very close to the Miyako Islands on its way northwards. The storm is not expected to intensify much, despite of the warm waters in its favour, but is expected to affect the Japanese mainland, possibly causing flooding and gales.
