Having appreciated the beauty of the world and found a home with its life, "Soar" closes the story with a serenade in the spirit of adventure. The solo piano opens the movement with overflowing excitement, and never rests as the orchestra joins the celebration of life, section by section. The hyperactive celebration then gives way to an epic tale of adventure, told boldly in a fugue that extends shamelessly throughout the rest of the movement. It is a tale of valour and courage, with proud displays of might contrasted with vulnerable moments of reflection: the conflict builds to a dramatic confrontation, and the music builds up from the silence with the theme of the fugue, reaching a sensitive cadenza where the spirit of adventure is found again. Finally, the orchestra emerges from the silence to let loose in one last outpouring of passion. ~
