The second round of the IMBA National Enduro Series was also the first round of the 2017 Big Mountain Enduro. Like the first round of the National Enduro Series in Oklahoma (check out the video here: https://youtu.be/GeZewgZ7CsE) it was extremely rocky, but in a very different way. The Oklahoma trails were non-stop, slow and technical with tons of sharp rocks that destroyed tires. The trails in Santa Fe had much bigger rocks that weren't as sharp, but the trail speeds were so much higher that they were similarly hard on equipment. A solid crash on the first stage lost me quite a bit of time after I twisted my bars and knocked my brake levers out of place. I also broke the hydraulic line on my dropper post and spent the rest of the day fixing it, breaking it again and fixing it once more. A huge thanks to David Camp and Nico from Shimano for helping me get it working!
