McKinsey's new global head has apologised to South Africans for work the firm did with friends of former president Jacob Zuma. The ill-fated deal tarnished the reputation of the world's biggest consultancy. On Friday, power utility Eskom said it had finalised a settlement agreement with McKinsey to pay back one billion rand which was unlawfully paid out to the consultancy. Speaking in Johannesburg this morning, Kevin Sneader, who started as McKinsey's global managing partner last week, said the firm has appointed a new head of its Africa division and replaced its South African finance, legal and compliance staff.
