The Hawks believe they have a watertight case in the matter involving the controversial Vrede dairy farm project in the Free State. The crime-busting unit conducted an early morning raid on the offices of Free State Premier, Ace Magashule, and the provincial Department of Agriculture in Bloemfontein. They are investigating a multi-million rand project, allegedly used as a front to loot state coffers. A number of high profile figures linked to the Gupta family have been fingered in the corruption.
