Cranley: Council should do business in public

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley was not a fan of city council meeting in secret.       So, Wednesday, August 26, he vetoed legislation that could let it happen.   "When executive sessions are used, probably nothing bad happens all the time. It just breeds cynicism and mistrust. So there's not need to do that, said Cranley.   City council voted to put a charter amendment on the November ballot that would let voters decide if council could hold private meetings to address certain issues. Cranley said there was no need for it saying the government should be open and transparent. But his veto could be moot.
