Ravi is a self-proclaimed real-life Slumdog Millionaire. Born over 40 years ago in a poor Hindu family, Ravi contracted polio when he was only 3 years old. His was one of the first known cases of polio in India. The doctors tried electric shocks and anything they could, but all to no avail. Finally they sent a paralyzed Ravi home with a 1 year death sentence. Distraught, and confused as to what to do, Ravi's mom decided to rid the child of his misery by throwing him into the Arabian Sea. But as she tried to throw the child into the water, a force stopped her and she heard a voice from Heaven.

Baffled, she went home. But, that evening a Christian man came to the house. He had been praying and God had spoken to him, instructing him to go to the house and pray for Ravi. For 6 years, the pastor came to the house a prayed for Ravi. Through the prayers, God healed Ravi enough that he lived and only his legs were paralyzed. During this time, the family began to believe in Jesus.

As Ravi grew up, God performed many miracles in his life. Although there were no special schools for handicapped children, God helped Ravi to get admission into a regular school. There, despite the teasing of the other children, Ravi excelled. He went on to get his Bachelors degree from College as well.

Step by step God guided Ravi and told he is the first handicapped man to own his own television channel in India. He is also married and has to beautiful daughters.

Jesus has made Phil. 4:13 a reality in Ravi's life. He truly can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.
