The Flight is a short animation film made by The Energy and Resources Institute's Film and TV Unit to promote the message of Education that helps us create a greener planet or in other words Education for Sustainable Development.

We have a dual link with our future- what it gives us and what we save or build for this future. So how will the future of our planet look like? Will the valleys continue to be green? Will the sky always remain blue? Where will all the mounds of waste go? Where will all the denuded forests lead? And what will it mean for our children? Climate change as many say is already a part of our reality. It will assert an even greater presence in our children's lives.

The short film looks at the possibility of two very different worlds. They are both defined by the choices we make, for us and for our children. It has been produced by Terrapin, a children's publication (an imprint of The Energy and Resources Institute).

Awards:

The Flight was awarded the Best Animation at the CMS Vatavaran Environment and Wildlife Film Festival, 2014. The film was also nominated in the Best Animation category at the 5th International Documentary and Short Film Festival Kerala 2012 and has been screened at the 9th Children's India International Children's Film Festival, Bangalore and at the Indian Association Sharjah Short Film Festival as well.
