The iPad Compass stand is an extremely small form factor stand that works with the iPad, iPad 2, and even the iPhone and iPod touch. This stand costs $39.99 at your local Apple store, but you'll probably be able to get it for cheaper online.
I highly recommend this stand. It's very compact and sturdy enough to trust.
