Little Skew Village is where the Markha Trek and Chilling to Spitok Trek (or opposite direction, Spitok to Chilling) split. Markha to the right, Spitok to the left. Guide Riga spent time telling us about the tragic flood in Ladakh on August 6, 2010 when torrential rains caused flash floods that devastated the region. The floods destroyed villages and killed both Ladakhis and trekkers where our big feet were plodding along right now. Riga said, "A body was found here...another body was found there..." With high canyon walls on both sides of this valley, there wouldn't have been anywhere to run. Onwards to tonight's home stay in Shingo where fortunately, we didn't have to share a room with eight other trekkers. Phew...escaped that bullet... Please don't forget to Subscribe Share and Like.
