Why one has to die or commit suicide in this country to gain the attention of administration or seek justice. In a fresh development in the infamous Unnao gangrape case, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to Uttar Pradesh government and police seeking an explanation in the custodial death of the father of a rape victim. The daughter of the deceased has alleged that it is only the delinquent MLA who got her father killed since she was not willing to withdraw the complaint against him. Accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar had allegedly got the girl picked up from her residence and gangraped her. Earlier, on Monday state chief minister Yogi Adityanath had called Sengar but the photographs of Sengar smiling was enough to explain his audacity and the power he enjoys. However, NHRC has also asked an explanation from the DGP, for not communicating the custodial death to the Commission within 24 hours.
