(27 Nov 2018) After speaking at a rally in Tupelo, Miss., President Donald Trump headed to the Gulf Coast, where he rallied to try to keep a Mississippi Senate seat in GOP hands – stumping for Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith against Democrat Mike Espy ahead of Tuesday's runoff election. As thousands of Trump supporters filed through metal detectors to enter the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Miss., about 100 anti-Trump protestors chanted "Impeach 45" as they held signs with red strikes through Hyde-Smith's name. "We have to send a very clear message that there's no place for hate in our state, that Cindy Hyde-Smith's comments on the campaign trail, her actions, have not served the Gulf Coast," said Mark Isaacs, a resident of Bay St. Louis, Miss., who held a "You're Fired" sign as cars passed by and honked. "They have not served Mississippi well," Isaacs said. "She voted against the Katrina aid that our coast economy needed, and she's followed that with statements that are reprehensible to – and should be reprehensible to – all Mississippians. And to that, we really need to say, you're fired." Wendy Sullivan, also a resident of Bay St. Louis, Miss., said she has a bi-racial grandson and doesn't want him to grow up in a hateful state. "I want to bring an end to racism," said Sullivan, holding a sign that said, "Hear Our Vote" with pictures of minority and Muslim women. "The meanness and the lying spirit of this administration has got to stop. Women need to speak up, and men too, for all our people."
