"Neconome is a system that displays information about how crowded a place is. For example in hospitals, it keeps track of how many people are waiting before your scheduled check in time, the number of people waiting before you at driving ranges, and just how long you'd need to wait before your turn. It lets you know such information anywhere anytime on your cell phone."

A choked waiting room is represented by a squinting eye, a well managed one is represented by an open eye, and a closed eye means the company is, well, closed.

If a company has signed up with the service, the software is piggy backed to their number ticketing system. If a waiting room is too congested the system automatically contacts the person responsible on their phone so they can rectify the situation. This voice call, currently widely used in banks and in the government, was developed by Meiko Shokai.

In this way, Neconome helps both the company reduce bottlenecks and encourages more customers to visit.
