http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Outside Danba is the Sopo Watchtower Village. Extremely picturesque on the side of the hill. One of the best preserved villages and watchtower clusters in the entire area but no access except by feet. I would definitely schedule a visit here, feet or no feet. The Chinese Government is amping up the construction on this not-so-good road by tunneling through mountains. Badly needed since landslides frequently wipe out villages along with the road.
