Interview begins at minute 20:00. Gnostic churches, cults, and magnetic leaders have sprouted like weeds since the 19th century occult revival. They have married what little was understood of the Classic Gnostics with varied esoteric traditions, creating a stew of various hybrid Gnosticisms that still flourish today. Yet the discovery and continual breakthroughs of the Nag Hammadi library reveals that what goes by modern Gnosticism is something that the ancient Gnostics would find alien and bizarre. Their views were actually paradoxically far more radical and orthodox than ever assumed before. We study the chasm between the ancient and the new, and wonder why the Gnostic Gospels are continually ignored (and is it even a bad thing for modern, heterodox theology?). We also streamline the latest Gnostic scholarship, distilling easy-to-follow narratives and practices that stimulate Gnosis without an organization or guru or damage to the wallet. And find out exactly what were the many warnings of the Classic Gnostics to our contemporary humanity.
