The Starboard engine in the engine room of the "Belle of Louisville" The engine was originally built for another ship in the late 1800. After completing its service there it was removed and installed on this ship when built in 1914. This video was taken in August of 2009. Statistics: Each engine - 450 HP boiler pressure about 190 psi boiler make up water - raw river water fuel consumption - 150 gallons per hour Connecting rod ( Pitman rod) steel reinforced wood Paddle wheel - 24 feet long 17" in diameter weighs 34,000 lbs This boat is completely steam powered
