Chrysler refuses to recall 2.7 million Jeeps at NHTSA's (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) request. NHTSA asked for the recall because it believes that Chrysler's placement of fuel tanks behind the rear axle on the 1993-2004 Grand Cherokee and the 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty poses a fire risk in the event of a collision.
