Here is a recipe of my mother-in-law's Homemade Garam Masala. It is a perfect addition to any meat dish. You can even add it to bean and vegetarian curries. You can make this blend and store it in the refrigerator for 6 months. But the fresher it is, more aroma it has.  I keep a small bottle for regular use in my spice drawer. Try this garam masala with some chili powder and turmeric powder and you do not need anything else. Let me know in the comments section f you try it out.

1/2 Cup Coriander Seeds
1/4 Cumin Seeds
1 Tbsp Black Cumin Seeds OR Shahi Jeera
2 Tbsp Fennel Seeds
1 Tbsp Green Cardamom
1/4 Cup Black Cardamom
3 Tbsp Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Patthar Phool OR Black Stone Flower (optional)
1 Tbsp Star Anise
1/4 Cup Cinnamon Sticks
1 Tbsp Cloves
1/8 Cup Poppy Seeds
