Second video-worthy storm of 2013. First storm of official spring. The motion of the lowest cloud layer in the video is interesting. You can see the clouds first accelerate towards the NW, slow down, and then almost completely reverse direction, pushing due S. Motion resembles a shallow wave sloshing in one direction and then the other. Also, if you look closely you'll notice the shelf cloud base is actually a few thousand feet above the lower stratus layer. Nice example of "elevated" convection which is probably the most common type of lightning producer here in Michigan in the spring.
