To find out how the economies are growing in Germany, the US and Japan, we take a monthly look at the DBIX, exclusively created for DW-TV by Deutsche Bank Research and based on economic data from the three countries. Last year, things got off to a good start but then took a turn for the worse with the housing slump in the US. By December, the index had reached its lowest point of the year. According to Klaus Deutsch, an expert at Deutsche Bank, the US is still the weakest link in the world economy. We find out what's in store in 2008. Report by Mabel Gundlach.
