I was flying my Phantom 2 over a lake to catch a shot of an island. Suddenly the Phantom crashed from a height of 50 feet about 100 feet off shore. Luckily it was in only 3 feet of water so I waded out to retrieve it. Phantoms sink like stones in lakes! A Go Pro continued to film the entire crash even underwater without an underwater housing! I thought everything would be ruined however I promptly took everything apart at home and carefully dried it with a hairdryer. Afterwards the Go Pro was placed in a bag of rice to further dry it out. Check out my Phantom review here: http://45degreeslatitude.com/blog/getting-started/review-of-dji-phantom-2-drone-with-zenmuse-hd-3d-3-axis-gimbal-and-gopro-hero-3-black-edition-camera/ Everything seems to work! Even the footage on the mini-SD card was fine! This little unit although fragile is tough. Note: my Phantom was fully charged but for some reason completely died after 3 minutes of flight. Must be defective.
