Middletown Police look for Grinches stealing from Light Up Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) - Middletown police are asking for help to find a real-life Grinch. The department posted on its Facebook page that thieves are stealing lights from the Light Up Middletown display.


In the post, the department tells the thief, "if you need lights that bad, come see us we will help you get lights. We will personally get some for you if in need. If you’re stealing them to take them back up to your mountain overlooking Whoville, then stop!"

While the department doesn't have a Cincy Lou Who, it has "extra patrols starting tonight to give you a nice cell and some warm handcuffs to brighten your Holiday spirit."

Officers may even reward someone who turns in the thief or reports people messing with the decorations some "eggnog, candy canes and a box of Milton’s donuts with Christmas sprinkles".

The police post has been shared more than 860 times in less than 12 hours.
