The Supreme Court upheld Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua’s, win in the 2017 election. 
The apex court ruled that the Court of Appeal was wrong in nullifying his win. Through lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, Mutua said the Court of Appeal was wrong in their finding that the election had failed the test of constitutional verifiability.
