Woman Abducted, Assaulted In 20km Terror Ride

Out of vengeance over some Facebook posting, a 26-year-old woman teamed up with her six friends and abducted a 19-year-old girl at Jalan Kamarudin, in Kuala Terengganu on Tuesday. In the 12.30am incident, the group also allegedly assaulted her during the terror ride, before throwing her out of the vehicle by the roadside in Kampung Teratak Batu, Marang, about 20 kilometres away from where the victim was taken. District deputy police chief, Superintendent Suffian Sulaiman said the victim was later rescued by passers-by, before lodging a police report on the incident. The report led to the arrest of two women, both aged 26, and later, five accomplices in Kuala Terengganu. An initial investigation revealed the motive of the case was due to the victim allegedly posting an offensive comment on Facebook about the 26-year-old female suspect. The seven individuals, including two men between the ages of 18 and 26, were then remanded for four days, beginning today, to facilitate an investigation into the case.
