A destructive dog was caught red-pawed after trashing his owner’s sofa – and making a cosy bed out of the stuffing strewn across the conservatory.

Naughty pooch Dexter has caused £700 worth of damage – forcing owners Melanie Eccleston, 30, and Will Sellers, 28, to take their sofa to the tip after mauling it and decorating the room with white stuffing.

The lurcher-cross was left on his own for just two hours on Monday, October 29, and was peacefully sleeping in the stuffing when Melanie returned to the carnage.

When woken, one-year-old Dexter was far from shame-faced – bounding over to mum-of-three Melanie ‘as if proud of what he’d done’.
