Queen contestants for the 2009 Washington Town & Country Fair met Tuesday, June 2, for orientation. The 25 contestants will take part in several events leading up to the Fair, including a contestant/sponsor barbecue, “A Day in Washington,” “A Day of Beauty,” a run/walk, the annual parade and sell tickets. The queen will be crowned Wednesday, Aug. 5.
