The last Norfolk Southern train on the Peavine Line!  Collecting the grain elevator EMD SW9 locomotive, last customer cars and storage cars!  NS tried to make this an abandoned railroad line but the Federal Railroad Administration stepped in.   New Huhtamaki plant in Batavia saved this historic railway branch line.   There has never been another NS train on this line since this video.   Part of the Peavine is now leased to Cincinnati East Terminal Railway CCET.  Trains returned to this location in Winchester Ohio on March 20, 2015 when CCET brought their switcher back and ran lite to Mount Zion just for practice.   Frontier Rail owns CCET and they operate this line just past MP78.445 at Plum Run Ohio east of Peebles, Ohio.  Active rail service is Huhtamaki, Winchester Ag Services, Cohen Recycling, rail car storage and Plum Run Hansen Quarry for gravel for maintenance of way.  Filmed April 25, 2014.
