A group of local women gather each week to make home-made teddy bears. They put a lot of love into every stitch in the hopes it will help a child through a tough situation. They are called the "Bear Ladies" because they make bears, and they've been making them since 1996. What do they do with the bears? They take them to all the hospitals in town and the Childrens' Advocacy Center. For their commitment to children, the bear ladies receive this week's Chris Myer's Extra Mile award and $500.
