Our number of the day is 31%. With the emergence of disruptive technologies, mining companies are witnessing massive transformation. And 76% of the global energy and resources industry leaders consider artificial intelligence and robotics as critical factors for success today. But get this, only 31% of mining companies ready for "disruption". Well, at least that's according to Deloitte's new report titled: Rethinking work and operations in the mining industry. Mining companies are being challenged to rethink their operating strategies, including how technology can be practically applied to change long-standing practices. The reports states that while the potential uses of online or mobile engagement platforms are vast, open communication is key to creating value with them.
