Massachusetts State Police Speeding Without Lights

I live in an area of Massachusetts with a very heavy state police presence on the local interstate. Commuting regularly, I observe someone pulled over for speeding nearly everyday. For years I've also observed another phenomena: state police, in both marked and unmarked cars, speeding without their lights on. I don't know if Mass. has a state law exempting emergency vehicles from driving the speed limit and maybe some of these officers are responding to a call. But all of them? I simply don't ever see MSP driving at the speed limit on this highway. All of these shots were made in one direction, towards the local barracks.
