Standardization under 5s Methodology ensures the implementation of the first three ‘S’ viz. SORTING, SYSTEMIZATION, and SANITIZATION. Apart from the successful implementation of the first three ‘S’ Standardization also addresses transparency and visualization which include trouble maps, assembly points, transparent toolbox, transparent offices, etc. The benefits of transparency are that one can easily visualize the flow of the process and the service delivery in a production process as well as service delivery. Steps to implement the STANDARDIZATION at the workplace: • Develop the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at the workplace to perform the operation by everyone according to the SOPs • Create or identify the standard location for every item in the organization. • Create the sanitization frequency chart for every department, workplace, and item. • Create standard signs such as ‘Entry Point’ and ‘Exit Point’ for the employees. • Ensure visualization and transparency in offices, workplaces, production systems, etc. • Maintain the logbook, charts, and checksheets to track the progress.
