http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Guide Niru suggested we leave Somnath Temple and take a rickshaw (tuk-tuk) 2kms/1.2 miles away to another temple. Not that this particular temple was worth seeing but because it is a sacred area for cremation and pujas. A "puja" (Hindu and Buddhism) is a religious ritual that shows honor or worship on a variety of occasions. When a cremation is over, a family brings the ashes in front of this temple and takes a boat from here out to where three rivers flow in the Arabian Sea before dropping the ashes into the water. There are 999 rivers in India that have sacred and special attributes. Watch the video to find out why this spot is so important... Please don't forget to Subscribe Share and Like. Thanks.
