http://davidlynchfoundation.org - Interview with Shepard Fairey about his post and involvement in the Change Begins Within Benefit concert for school children to learn Transcendental Meditation.

Bobby Roth:
Shepard Fairey is here that absolutely iconic, wonderful graphic designer - please shep come on in - Shep is here, everyone knows the beautiful magnificent poster that sheep did of Barak Obama... and if we could see the graphic that shep so kindly put together for our concert.

Ok, Shepard, tell us a little bit about how you got here and why this poster, and why you picked the colors and just talk a little bit about it if you wouldn't mind.

Shepard Fairey:
Sure. well first of all I'm a really big fan of David Lynch as well as all the people that are performing tonight, and I was asked by my friend Laura Dawn who is from moveon.org and works with David Lynch if I would be into this cause, and I said absolutely.

I really believe in creativity, empowerment and peace which are all, I think, fundamental aspects of this principle. As my life has gotten busier and busier and more stressful I'm looking for ways to return to where it's easy for me to focus and create, and I think this is a great solution for people of all different creative endeavors who are looking for ways to have less stress in their life.

But as far as the poster goes, I really wanted to make something that had the spirit of peace and celebration that I think the Beatles first captured when they went to India 40 years ago and learned the transcendental mediation technique and to show and celebrate that for a new generation.

Bobby Roth:
Thank you very much, I know the concert is coming up big time, and I'm very thankful that you flew all the way out here for this, and that Shepard did the design and donated all the proceeds to the David Lynch Foundation.

The poster is available on http://dlf.tv all the proceeds go to help all children around the world dive within, have their mind settle down to that ocean of pure consciousness, the body gain deep rest, throw off stress and then they're better able to deal with stresses and violence that they often have in their lives.

So thank you very much Shepard, we really appreciate what you're doing!
