Details below lyrics.... -------------------------------- Summer's moving on Each day shorter than the last The whipporwills are gone Frost on morning grass Suitcases packed away In bags of dusty gray Autumn Sky, we say goodbye Winter slumbers on Though its breath chills the air Our summer song Fades out somewhere Autumn sky, we say goodbye --------------------------------------- Summer vacations are often times a productive songwriting time for me. Last year it was "Hideaway" that came free and the year before that "Daybreak" fell out of my guitar. Some combination of new stimuli and extra time helps me pry things loose a bit more easily. This past summer was no exception. I arrived in Rehoboth Beach in Delaware with the melody for this song, and little else. Somewhere along the way, it became clear to me that the piece was about the passing of time, with the end of summer being a metaphor for all the moments - good and bad - that we eventually need to say goodbye to. For a while, I thought this would end up in a growing pile of songs that I couldn't quite pull off. It was Mike from channel doctorcastille, and his lovely verse piano, that finally cracked this one for me. Without it, "Autumn Sky" would still be in the perpetual demo phase. Sorry for forgetting to mention that in the vid, Mike! Please check out his channel, he is a phenominal artist as well as a man. https://www.youtube.com/user/doctorcastille I also need to credit the following channels for allowing me to use their footage in this video: https://www.youtube.com/user/eldusto84?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/ckivancster?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/timecue?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/candypapa?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/bluekit1?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/supergrovr?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/rantingcurmudgeon?feature=watch https://www.youtube.com/user/KozziImages?feature=watch Thanks for listening and supporting my craft.
