Growing herbs year round means that we quite often get too much to use while "fresh".
I have many different ways of drying herbs and this video shows how I mainly dry them.
I usually give them a good rinse in apple cider vinegar and cold, cold water and dry them off on a kitchen towel.
When they are not dripping I bunch them up and wrap an elastic band over the end of the stalks. Then I hang them from shower curtain rings from the dowel in the kitchen that also holds our paper towel! lol You can use whatever you want that works for you to tie the stalks together, string and yarn work well too. I find it easier with elastics.
When I just have a couple of sprigs left, I put them on a paper towel on a baking sheet in the corner of the kitchen to dry. I try to write the name of the herb under where it is drying so that I can keep track of it as they dry.
I have a "herb box" that I put paper lunch bags in to hold the herbs and dry them and I store the dried herbs in big ziplock bags underneath and that keeps them cool and dark.
Thank you for watching! See you next time!
