This is a three tier worm composting system that I am trying for the first time. I used three of the same size Rubbermaid totes, they stack well and leave enough room between the bins. The bottom bin has no holes in it and catches all the liquid waste from the system. It is very highly concentrated so it needs to be diluted with water. I'll post more about that when the time comes. The middle bin and top bin will alternate with each other as needed so I drilled holes around the two bins the same way. I did not put holes in the lid so that I have more control of the moisture levels. The worms like it moist but not too wet. The worm bed consists of a layer of ripped up cardboard, shredded newspaper, chopped up kitchen compost with finely ground eggshells, topped up with a little dirt from our yard compost. The worms do need some dirt to help them digest. I am storing them in a cool location outside because they do not like to be to warm. I will make more videos to keep updated on the feeding circuit and how the worms are doing =) Thank you for watching! Please feel free to leave any advice and comments below!
