Books That Had So Much Potential

This is something that has been on my mind a lot recently. I've read a lot of books that I felt had so much potential and could've been really great if it wasn't for a few small things that annoyed me. These books all had the potential to be 5/5 star books, but ended up getting 3 or 4 stars, due to the problems I had with the plot or the characters. I hate when this happens; when you can see the potential a book has and it fails to live up to it. What are some books that you thought had so much potential but didn't quite live up to your expectations? I actually just finished reading another book today that I would have added to this list and that is: Crossroads by Riley Hart. It started off so promising and it got so repetitive and the plot seemed to disappear.
