Toy guns desensitising children in gang areas

The Grassy Park Community Policing Forum on the Cape Flats has called for a ban on toy guns. The area is rife with gang activity and shootings are reported almost daily. The CPF says there's an alarming trend of children carrying and playing with toys that look like real guns. It says this, coupled with continued gang violence, is desensitising children.
