With all the technology that exists in the world to record today, there still remains one truth. What you record must sound good. No matter how many microphones and computers and how much gear you have, it still boils down to the performance and where the performance is taking place.

In the course of a personal artistic project I am working on called IN A CHURCH, I was lucky enough recently to get a great performer sing Pie Jesu by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Evelyne Larochelle is a student studying at the Québec city conservatory of music. she is a soprano with a really lovely voice. It was important to me to get her to sing in a fantastic area to capture the magic of what she was singing. The NEF in the downtown Quebec city area did not disappoint.

This video basically explains the space where I was about to get down to recording.
