I started playing guitar in 1964 - 50 years ago - and it's my 70th birthday in a few days' time. I thought I'd dive back into the '60s and play something that was influential to me around that time. I remembered Jackson C. Frank's "Blues Run The Game", which I haven't performed for a long time, and which has been recorded by several people over the years. Jackson C. Frank was a troubled soul, with tragedy after tragedy in his comparatively short life (he died aged 56 in 1999), and it's very sad that, in spite of writing and recording this most inspiring of songs, he had very little material success as a reward for his art. So, on the eve of my 70th, it's nice to dedicate this to his memory - if he'd lived, he'd have been just a year older than me. I'm playing it in G voicing, with the capo on the 2nd fret - so in A. www.willflyguitar.com
