Band Saw Basics part 4 - Quick Tips In the final of the Band Saw Basics series, I have a few quick tips. Band saws are possibly the most useful and safe cutting machines used by woodworkers. They are often supplied with a general purpose blade fitted, but not having had tracking or guides adjusted well. The blade will usually cut reasonably well despite this, and the novice user will just accept that this is as good as it gets. WRONG - A little time spent on adjustments will usually pay off with noticeably improved performance. This series of videos will show you how I have maximized the performance of my small band saw, allowing me to tackle a huge range of tasks with it. The lessons learnt will be applicable to all band saws, although the methods shown may need adapting for different models. As with all machinery: DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER SOURCE WHENEVER GUARDS ARE REMOVED. USE SOME COMMON SENSE.
