Wedding invitations are actually a very crucial aspect in Islam. What is the ruling on accepting invitations to a wedding/waleema? What are the guidelines?

It is wajib to accept a wedding/waleema invitation with some conditions. 
1. If something prohibited at the wedding i.e alcohol. 
2. If it is going to cause hardship to oneself such as traveling, work etc. 
3. If the wedding is not specific to you. However, it is a right of a believer to send an invitation and have it accepted.
