In 1937, Pablo Picasso painted "Guernica" in reaction to his horror of the German air raid that destroyed the Spanish town and Killed thousands. In 2003, composer David Del Tredici, composed the piece "In Wartime" in reaction to the horror of the aftermath of 9-11 and the bombing of Afghanistan. In 2007, The San Jose Raiders, informed and inspired by both of these amazing works of arts and in reaction to the horrific images we see on the news every day, present it's program for the 2007 winter guard season; "Guernica" (In Wartime) The staff includes Jay Murphy, Mark Metzger, T.J.
