Herbs are a must for me in the garden. They add flavor and nutrition to meals and drinks, too. Many of them draw beneficial insects to the garden while some repel the unwanted critters. Also, many herbs have medicinal qualities as well. Buying transplants or starts can be a bit pricey so, it's good to know that some herbs can be planted straight from seed! Besides good soil, the main thing you will need when growing herb seedlings is patience! Many of the seeds take a long time to germinate, but don't lose heart....they WILL grow.
