Tess's First Hog

Took Tess out Hog hunting for the 6th or 7th time. She is not the most patient hunter, so often we end up going in early and not seeing anything, but on this night, a nice boar came in right at 10 PM. The image you are looking at is filmed through a PVS-14 with the brightness turned down a bit. The feeder light that is there is just too bright to use my NV gear without turning the light sensitivity down a lot. It would have been a much more clear video if there was no light on the feeder, but that wasn't up to me (not my land). The video is also backwards, as the I-phone adapter that I used to film the video was holding the phone upside down, so, when I am telling her the head is to the right, in the video it's to the left because I had to reverse it to turn it upright. I have crummy video software what can I say? You get the idea. Anyway, this is her first hunt where she shoots something large, and in her excitement she cusses once, so if that sort of thing offends you, don't watch it. I think the first time I said that word in front of my Dad I was 11 when something equally exciting happened to me....Tess is 15, so I forgive her. She made a great shot, and the Boar turned out to be 180 lbs with a really nice set of cutters. I love hunting with the kids...hearing the excitement in her voice was priceless.
