Sour-spicy flavored rice noodles are deeply rooted in the Guangxi people’s daily lives. Among all varieties of rice noodles here, Laoyou rice noodles (meaning old friend rice noodles) are the most famous in its capital city Nanning. Laoyou noodles have been around for a century. As Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region celebrates the 60th anniversary of its establishment, CGTN reporter Wang Mengzhen visits one popular rice noodle restaurant in Nanning not just to taste it, but to understand the history behind.
